“Clean Bangla Green Bangla”

Disposing waste here and there is a common scenario in Bangladesh; the most alarming fact is that the situation is setting worse. On the other hand the concern department of Bangladesh are fully aware of the outcome and trying to cope up with the situation, every morning the authorized cleaner clean the road, ,important places but at the end of the day same situation , so the whole situation of garbage are understandable to all concern people of Bangladesh so we are trying to public awareness in the long term in Bangladesh. We are here because every people deserves to study in a clean & healthy environment. Cleaning awareness campaign is the leading voice for the students and people those who care about their health, education, clean & green environment Although our work of volunteer is a cooperative participating work with Dhaka university and other public and private universities students as well as Dhaka south City Corporation, Dhaka North City Corporation, and common people of Bangladesh. The activities of volunteer had a positive feedback and are giving a significant boost to the integrity of the working partners, a tot of problems are yet to be conquered. So hopefully SWITCH! Volunteers could be make a positive change into the enter scenario.

Cleaning Awareness among the People of Bangladesh:

Switch Bangladesh Foundation associate with Asia Association of Education and Exchange started a campaign on 14 February 2014 to raise cleaning awareness among the general people of Dhaka City. We collected the signatures of 1 Million People by obtaining their consent to not throw any kind of garbage here and there with the partnership of Dhaka North and South City Corporation. More than 1000 Volunteers from 30 public and private universities participated in and successfully organized this project. The targeted area of the campaign is all over Bangladesh and the project’s duration was five particular years divided by two different phases.

We collected the signatures of 1 Million People

We collected the signatures of 1 Million People by obtaining their consent to not throw any kind of garbage here and there with the partnership of Dhaka North and South City Corporation.

From March 01, 2015 to May 30, 2016

The programs and activities within the campaign were:

Continued the campaign in 40 Universities in Dhaka
Collected promise Signature.
Vice-Chancellor of every University inaugurated the program.
Besides signatures students and teachers cleaned the premises of the university.
Organized workshops in the classroom about the importance of environmental issues and cleaning campaigns.
Hanged 40 universities with cleaning campaign posters.
Provided a dust box in every University.
Placed a cleaning campaign banner in every University.
Made a committee consisting of 9 students and the head of the committee was one teacher. They cleaned off their University.
Weekly 1-day SWITCH! Member visited that institution for monitoring.

From April 01, 2017 to February 30 - 2019:

Programs and Activities were:

Continued the campaign in 60 Schools and colleges:
Collected promise Signature. I will not throw the garbage here and there.
Head sir or Principal of every school and college inaugurated the program.
Besides signature students and teachers cleaned the premises of the institutions.
Organized classroom workshops about the importance of environmental issues and cleaning campaigns.
Hanged every 60 schools and colleges with cleaning campaign posters.
Provided a dust box in every University.
Placed cleaning campaign banners in every University.
Made a committee consisting of 9 students and the head of the committee was one teacher. They cleaned up their University.
Weekly 1-day SWITCH! Member will visit that institution for monitoring.

Declaring Dhaka University as a Clean Campus.

To achieve this goal, switch started its activities at Dhaka University every Friday from 10:30 to 11:30, they arranged a cleaning program, and after 10 months of this continuing campaign, we arranged a big campaign.

From the October 1, 2017 program, we invited all of the departments of Dhaka University to take part in this campaign.
More than 2000 students took part.
The honorable vice chancellor, Pro Vice-chancellor, proctor, and dean took part in this event.
More than 200 cleaners from Dhaka University took part.
More than 100 cleaners from Dhaka South City Corporation and, North City Corporation took part.
The Dhaka University Proctorial Team also took part in this campaign.
Carried out some small and big events on important Days, In front of big markets in Dhaka city and also important places like DITF, Ekusha Book Fair etc. around 30 days and places.

Switch Climate Actions by Tree Plantation (One Student one Tree)

Switch Bangladesh Foundation is always concerned about climate issues in this world of heavy pollution and industrialization. Keeping this at the core, we started one of our impactful projects, planting One Tree for One Child in our schools. With this ongoing project, we organized massive tree plantations in different parts of Bangladesh with the cooperation of different clubs and organizations like the Rotary Club of Shahbag and Agami Education Foundation. This project and program are part of our metro project, Clean Bangla, Green Bangla. To make this project successful, our motto is to clean the unhealthy environment first and after that to plant trees as much as we can, to make the weather clean, to decorate the place with trees, and to participate in the Sustainable Development Goals in the long run.
