“Green Army” is a volunteer team that combats climate change and promotes tree plantation, emergency response, cleaning awareness, and social change. Under this mission, the target of yearly 500 hundred Tree Plantations has been taken by Switch Bangladesh Foundation. Volunteers who work for positive change in the country vow to work for climate change.
We have implemented the tree plantation movement in different areas of Dhaka City and worked very hard since day 1 of the Feni Noakhali flood in 2024. Volunteers engaging in tree plantation initiatives to address climate change is a commendable effort with several significant benefits. Our “Green Army” continuously works for social change such as creating cleaning awareness, and actively participated in over a hundred young volunteers of “Green Army”, led by Switch Bangladesh Foundation, embarked on a mission to clean a canal, Footpath, and areas in different areas of Dhaka cities. It was a testament to their commitment to creating a cleaner environment in Dhaka.
Volunteers from all over the country taking part in this movement are making them socially responsible, which makes our country a safe place. Overall, Volunteer-led tree plantation initiatives are a practical and impactful way to address climate change at the local level while empowering young people to become environmental stewards in their communities.
